Drill Program Preparation
|23rd May 2013 - Drill Compressor Arrives at Taraira|
Drill compressor arrives in Taraira.
The air compressor for the reverse circulation drill arrived at Taraira airstrip in mid-May by way of Air Colombia's venerable Douglas DC-3 air cargo-passenger aircraft. Once removed from the DC-3 via the cargo doors it was mounted back onto its frame and the wheels were re-attached. The compressor was then towed to camp 4 kms away, where it was re-united with the main drill assembly. The drill and all of its working components will be tested and ready for the upcoming drill program that commences in mid-June.
